Current Scenario
What is the Current Scenario?
Total 270 Gaumata resides in Shri Sai Shyam Gowshala across five different enclosed and protected areas. Male Calves, Females Calves, Milking cows, Dry cows, and pregnant cows are kept in separate areas which are enclosed and well protected. Each area has continuous and adequate supply of clean water and fodder. The fodder is made palatable by cutting it using Chaff Cutter. Gau Mata is provided with a nutritional, healthy and balanced feed and fodder.
All areas are well maintained to provide a clean shelter to cows. Full time staff ensure water, fodder and clean shelter to all cows.
Foggers are installed to provide relief to Gau Mata in summer. Amawas, Poornima and Makar Sakranti are special occasions where devotees come to worship Gau Mata and donate for their food. All the expenses are maintained mainly by donations. Also revenues from sale of Milk, Vermicompose and Ghee help to cover a part of it.
Injecting hormones and supplements to healthy milking cows for increasing milk production is strictly prohibited at Shri Sai Shyam Gowshala.
Doctor visit is scheduled every Sunday for regular treatment, vaccination and diagnosis. Along with regular visits, in case of emergency, veterinary doctor is available for treatment. Critical medicines, injections and antiseptics are stored at GauShala premises for emergency use. These medicines are administered under the guidance of veterinary doctor. GauMata requiring surgical procedures are attended by specialist doctor.
Last rites of cows
After the pious soul of Gaumata proceeds for its further journey, the mortal remains are carried by government certified vehicles to furnace facility for cremation in Vadodara.
Due to paucity of land for burying the mortal remains, we have opted for this option.
Plan of renovation
New design and structure after renovation will have more open space for cows to move freely without being tied up with continuous access to fodder and clean water, effective storage of fodder and feed, proper discharge of drainage water and rain water. This will also incorporate certain needs to be fulfilled in future like that of solar power, production unit for making products from cow dung and cow urine.
With an intention of an additional source of income for the gau shala and also to spread awareness via spiritual programmes, satsangs, discourses etc, we are planning renovation of Hanumanji Mandir. We also plan to build a Satsang Hall for celebrating various Utsavs along with kitchen for preparing food, a road along the perimeter of Gaushala for performing pradakshina and a lounge area for visitors. We have also incorporated well equipped rooms along side the satsang hall to facilitate stay for a small number of people in our new layout plan.
